All About the New 2021 Palisade

Orlando Hyundai – Palisade
In the short amount of time it’s been around, the Hyundai Palisade has made waves as a spacious, tech-laden, and fun-to-drive three-row midsize crossover SUV. Now in its second consecutive model year, the Palisade still provides loads of passenger space (measured at 155.3 cubic feet) and possesses a stout powertrain consisting of a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic transmission for great acceleration, smooth shifts, and a towing capacity that peaks at 5,000 lbs. For the 2021 model year, the Palisade is available in the following trim levels:

SE: The SE presents a cabin with cloth-trimmed seats and Rear Seat Quiet Mode technology for muting speakers and promoting a serene experience for rear-seat occupants. On the dashboard is an 8-inch touchscreen that brings together a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system with HD Radio digital tuning, Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and five USB ports for hooking up mobile devices. The SE is loaded with driver-assistance technologies, which are the following:
• Rearview camera for giving you a view of what’s behind you when moving backwards at low speeds, with rear parking sensors to send audio alerts if you’re getting too close to something or someone
• Adaptive cruise control to automatically set a safe following distance
• Driver attention warning to suggest taking a break if inattentive driving or drowsiness is detected
• Forward collision assist to warn of an impending front-end collision and apply steering or braking power to avoid it if necessary
• Lane following assist to maintain your vehicle’s centering in the intended lane of travel
• Lane keeping assist to gently steer you back into your intended lane of travel if you begin to drift out of it
The airbags on the Palisade SE consist of a driver’s knee airbag, two frontal impact airbags, two front seat-mounted airbags, and two roof-mounted side impact airbags. Any of these airbags can be deployed if a crash occurs.
SEL: Although the Palisade is a front-wheel-drive vehicle, you can upgrade to the SEL trim level to get the option of an all-wheel-drive system, which has all four wheels powered to optimize tire grip on the road. In addition, the SEL trim (and higher) swaps the bench-style seat on the base SE model with a pair of captain’s chairs to reduce maximum capacity from eight people to seven. The urethane on the steering wheel is replaced by leather, heating ability is added on the front seats, and eight-way power adjustment is added on the driver’s seat. While the SE has automatic climate controls for the driver and front passenger, the SEL gets additional ones for the second-row passengers. Remote keyless entry, which allows you to lock and unlock the doors with key fob button presses, is upgraded to proximity keyless entry to unlock doors by just having the key fob on you, and a push button replaces the ignition next to the steering wheel for more convenient engine starting. The rearview mirror has auto-dimming ability for dimming headlight glare, and a universal transceiver allows you to remote-control garage doors. Hyundai adds a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert as additional driver assistance.
LIMITED: The Limited is the luxury-oriented trim of the 2021 Palisade. The seat material is upgraded to Nappa leather seat trim, heating ability is added on the steering wheel and rear seats, cooling ability is added on both front and rear seats, eight-way power adjustment is extended to the front passenger seat, and the driver’s seat gains memory positioning. A pad is introduced in the front console for wirelessly charging mobile devices, and USB charging-only ports are added in the third row. Infotainment is bolstered with the presence of a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio, a navigation system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen (in place of the 8-inch one), and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. Driver assistance peaks with a surround-view camera (in place of the rearview one), front parking sensors (in addition to the rear parking ones), ultrasonic rear occupant alert, and highway drive assist.
CALLIGRAPHY: The 2021 model year welcomed the Calligraphy, which displaced the Limited as the top-of-the-line Palisade model. Only this model has quilted leather-door panels, front and rear skid plates for more robust undercarriage protection, side-mirror puddle lights that automatically turn on as you approach the vehicle, rear accent lighting, and side-door garnishes.
